Ways to Search the Directory:

Zip Code – Zip code is a great way to search for a practitioner because you can use it to search either a general or a specific geographical area.

For example:
If you type 7 in the zip section, you will get all of Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma, and a portion of Texas.
If you type 78 in the zip section, you will get the San Antonio and Austin regions of Texas.
If you type 787 in the zip section, you will get only the city of Austin, TX.
If you type 7870 in the zip section, you will get a smaller portion of Austin, TX.
If you type 78703 in the zip section, you will get an even smaller portion of Austin, TX.

Area Code/Phone Number – Similar to the search ability of the zip code, you can either search specifically for a 10 digit phone number, including dashes (e.g., 800-555-1212), or broaden the search by entering the area code, or the first one or two numbers. It is not necessary to include the number 1 at the beginning of your phone number search.

City/State – Typing in the name of a city, and/or choosing a state from the drop down list will produce the entire list of certified Diplomates in that city or state.

Certification – You can limit your search to any of the three programs that NCCAOM offers by selecting from the drop down box. The choices are Diplomate in Oriental Medicine, Acupuncture, Diplomate in Chinese Herbology, or Diplomate in Asian Bodywork Therapy.

Name – Type in some or all of the first or last name of a practitioner to see if they are certified.

Combination – You can combine the above search criteria to provide a specific listing in a specific area. For example, you could enter Alexandria as the city; Virginia (VA) in the state drop down box; and Diplomate in Acupuncture into the Certification area. This will provide a list of all certified Diplomates of Acupuncture located in Alexandria, Virginia.

In general, conducting a search using more information will produce fewer names, and vice versa. Accordingly, you may need to either broaden or narrow your search criterion to produce a more satisfactory result.
